First Day Done

On Tuesday evening the backpacks and binders were packed and ready for the kidlets.

On Wednesday morning we woke up bright and early ready for the BIG day. There were a few nervous kidlets and a Mom trying to figure out how exactly I’m going to get everyone where they need to be when they need to be there.

Big Daddy was leaving for work about the time the Man-Child needed to be at school so he was able to drop him off. 1 down, 4 to go.

A little while later it was time to drop the Littles off at the elementary school. They may go to the same school, but they have different drop-off points.

I dropped Ham off at the Kindergarten gate. He was a little concerned at first…for about half a second. He went in and started playing like he owned the place. 2 down, 3 to go.

It was a quick walk down the sidewalk to drop LaLa off. She couldn’t wait to go hug her teacher and find her friends. 3 down, 2 to go.

Einstein’s and Roo’s schools have the closest start time and are the furthest away from each other. At first Einstein didn’t want to ride the bus, but when we drove by the bus stop all his friends were there and he decided that the bus would be more fun than riding with Mom. 4 down, 1 to go.

And finally it was time to drop-off poor Roo. She was by far the most nervous to head back to school. She was worried she wouldn’t be able to find her classroom and was concerned about all the changes moving up to the middle school. We live really close to the middle school, but I told her that this is the one and only time I would drive her to school (because she didn’t want me to walk over with her). So I dropped her off and made sure she was through the gate safe and sound. 5 down, and 0 to go.

And then I was one…

and spent the morning with my Dad. He was celebrating his birthday with a brand new knee.

And I am happy to say they all made it home safe and sound…

Including Roo who had to walk home.
