So after what feels like a very long and difficult journey Einstein is done with Cub Scouts.
Last night we had our pack meeting.
The evening started with a puppet show
and a visit from one of our local firefighters to teach about fire safety.
One of the boys had the opportunity to feel what it’s like to be a firefighter.
After that they handed out the awards. Einstein got his fare share.
Then the real highlight of the evening.
I don’t know where Brother Kay is from, but he does an awesome award ceremony.
First up was a couple of Wolf badges. The 2 boys had to add the ingredients to earn their badge.
After the pot had time to stew they were able to receive their badges.
Afterwards he did a ceremony for the 3 boys who had earned their Webelos badge.
Part of the ceremony included the boys pulling the bow string to see how hard it was going to be to continue on the scouting journey. Einstein really muscled the string back. I really hope that gives us an accurate idea about Boys Scouts…but I doubt it.
The night ended with Einstein and Riley receiving their Arrow of Light.
He did a great job really explaining the symbolism of the Arrow of Light.
Here is Einstein getting his plaque.
And finally crossing over the bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
We now have a 4 year break until Ham starts in Cub Scouts. I hope that gives us enough time to get Einstein and Big J in the Eagle’s Nest!
Yay for no cub scouts for awhile!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat!!! CONGRATS to "E"! and YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really hope scouts is much better than your cub experience.
