SPT – The Gratitude Tree

We started the tradition a few years ago of putting up a tree before Thanksgiving. Not our Christmas tree (although it looks very similar), but a Gratitude Tree.

On Saturday Big Daddy got to work putting the tree up.

It’s a good thing he had help from the kidlets.

Then last night we had Family Home Evening that focused on Gratitude and the things, big and small, that we are thankful for.

We wrote what we are thankful for on tags to hang on the tree.

Some of us used the time to practice blowing kisses.

Then we decorated the tree with the tags.

When I asked LaLa to hang a tag she would stand up with a flourish a blow more kisses.

My favorite thing about the tree is putting up the hand-painted decorations my Mom made many years ago.
