SPT – Something Old

Lelly went back into the vault this month’s spt challenge:

  • Tuesday, May 5 something old
  • Tuesday, May 12 something new
  • Tuesday, May 19 something borrowed
  • Tuesday, May 26 something blue

take it literally, take it figuratively, but by all means, make a commitment to complete all four challenges for the month of may!

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Up in the top of my closet there is this box.

In it are some old pairs of jeans that I can’t seem to let go of. I wore these when Big Daddy and I started dating. It wasn’t that long ago…just 14 years and 5 kidlets ago.

I have reached a very depressing point in my struggle with my weight. I weigh as much as I did when I looked like this:

And I am not carrying another human being right now.

I don’t think I will ever be back into those old jeans, my body has changed just way too much. But I do realize that I am at a point that I need to make some real changes so maybe I can add the jeans that I am wearing now to the box…just to remember where I have been.

  1. I have a dress that I wore when Preston and I were dating and I wore it to the temple the morning we got married. I can't part with it either, it sits in a box underneath my bed. Maybe one of my girls can wear it some day I HIGHLY doubt I will ever fit in it again.

  3. Weight issues are no fun. Why do some people have it so easy in this area?? I wish I had skinny genes. And skinny jeans - that fit! I probably have some I should just get rid of too. Cute picture of you in the closet.

  5. I wonder if we all hold onto a talisman of sorts from our pre-kid days. For me it is a green dress (that I was totally hawt in!) that I just can't let go of. I haven't even seen how far I am from fitting back into it- I think it would derail me a bit!

  6. ahh what those cute little humans do to ones body shape.. and even if you did make it down to the weight of what you were when you fit into those old jeans - isn't it weird how they still manage to not fit JUST the way they once did.. but honestly I think you look Fab and have 5 beautiful children

  9. I moved with a box of "do not fit, but maybe they will someday". Adding to that...I really dislike jeans- I can never get them to fit right.

  10. I have a friend who said he donates his old stuff he doesn't fit into, and figures that shopping for new smaller pants is his reward for losing the weight. I kind of like that idea! :-)

  11. Great post and great picture. Good luck on your journey. Why oh why do we have to work out to stay in shape. I don't want to have to do it for the rest of my life. I just don't.

  12. Oh I remember those days too! I hate to keep items like this around, because there is no need to "look back" at how thin I was - I was a teenager! Your photo is really cute! Throw those jeans away and remember how far you've come, how many littles that love you, and know when the time comes you'll make the change! Take care my dear! Love, Michelle :) PS you must go enter my contest! good luck!
