SPT - Gifts

SPT LOGO

For the last 6 weeks of school our schedule for Mondays are kind of crazy.

Since Big J has band on Monday I drive the kiddos to school. They only walk about 1/2 a mile to school, but his practice kit weighs about 20 lbs. So we leave the house about 8am to drop them off. Then back home to get LaLa ready for school. We leave about 8:40am to drop her off at her school, which isn’t the same school the other kiddos go to. Then I hurry home since we have rearranged Ham’s therapy sessions so we can double up therapy on Mondays. His PT gets here about 9:15am and has a 1/2 an hour with him and then the speech therapist get here and they work with him together for 1/2 an hour. Then the PT leaves he has 1/2 an hour with just the speech therapist. As soon as she leaves it is back on the road to pick LaLa up at school and home with the kidlets for lunch. One of the benefits of doubling up the therapy is Ham is worn out and ready for a nap right after lunch. So LaLa and I have a few hours to hang out and color, or go outside and play, or just chill, or on a blessed day she will take a nap (those are happening very few and far between right now). Then since Big J and Einstein both have after-school activities I pick Roo up from school. Then an hour later it is time to pick up Einstein up from Backboard (a modified dodge ball game). I love that my kids walk to and from school and I feel safe when there are three of them, but even as comfortable as I am about our neighborhood there is no way I would let them walk home by themselves. Then about 1/2 an hour later it is time to pick up Big J from the school where they have band. Of the 4 elementary schools in our district I get to visit 3 of them on Monday.

So my gift to my children is my amazing chauffeur services.

  4. Ah. You have 'Crazy Monday' at your place. We have 'Crazy Tuesday' (which is today of course) but since it's spring break we only have gymnastics tonight- dance was cancelled. Too bad Moms don't get paid by the mile.

  5. If you had a quarter for every mile you drove, you could pay for your own chauffeur. (I said quarter instead of nickel on purpose-inflation you know.)
