Today was my birthday...and I had a great day.
I got to sleep in this morning until 9am...yes I am keeping it real on the blog, that is me sleeping with my mouth open.
This is the delightful breakfast I was served in bed.
We had a real calm morning just hanging out and then this afternoon we were off to church.
Then my bloggy and real friend Bren dropped by with a little gift. There was more than just Dr Pepper. It really meant a lot to me that she would drop by to see me...and would bring balloons! Thanks Bren, you're such a great friend!
For dinner we had sushi. Okay it isn't really sushi when the fish isn't raw, but I don't know the right word.
I made stir fry for the kidlets that weren't interested in trying it...which was 4 out of 5. Big J was the adventurous one.
I had some lovely gifts from family and friends. My mom-in-law knows I have been struggling with migraines lately and gave me my drug of choice, along with this sweet picture for my house.
Also Linda sent me some personalized note cards and "Good Mail" labels. I have wanted the "Good Mail" labels for quite some time, so I was very excited to get them. Now I have to be sure to send some "Good Mail"! Thank you Linda you are so sweet.
I really enjoyed just being with my family and feeling the love.
Okay, so maybe Ham isn't feeling the love.
Big Daddy made this awesome dessert....and yes he made it. I will share the recipe with you tomorrow on "Menu Monday". It was very, very yummy!
It was a long day full of lots of love and well wishes and I feel extremely lucky to have the family and friends that I do.
Happy Happy Happy (practically belated) Birthday. I can't think of a better way to spend a birthday than with sweet family!
ReplyDeleteGlad it was a good day! How sweet of Bren & Linda. And your family. I never get breakfast in bed, mostly because I am always up long before everyone else. I love the fake sushi from Costco!
ReplyDeleteLene.
ReplyDeleteI love your post today.
I am so happy that your day was wonderful.
You so deserve it!
You have some amazing blogging friends. I will for ever appreciate you introducing me to the world of blogging.
love ya
GLAD YOUR DAY WAS GREAT! Hope that this week is good too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Friend! I'm so glad you enjoyed your day.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of Bren to stop by. I wish I had been in town and could have delivered my gift in person! I just loved the design of the stationary. I love the colors pink and chocolate together and everyone needs some "good mail" stickers of their own! Enjoy!
I keep meaning to ask...when is your sister's birthday!?!
Great post! It looks like you have a lovely, yummy, and Dr. pepper filled day!! Happy late birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Lene!
