There is so much that has happened this last week that I haven't posted about so I thought I would do a week-in-review post. So grab a snack and maybe a soda and get ready for a long read.
Last Thursday Big J and Einstein had their Karate testing. Both boys advanced to the next belt level. Kee-Yah! (That's woohoo in Karate.)
Then Friday was the 100th day of school. Our school celebrates with a balloon launch.
I love that we live close enough to the school to see stuff like this.
Last year we watched from our yard, but this year Ham and I (and Ham's PT) walked down to the park to watch.
The kids had fun with all of the 100th day activities.
Is that Miss Sassy-frass or what?!?
On Saturday we took the kids to McCormick-Stillman Railroad park. We didn't have a very long wait in line to ride the train. At Christmastime I heard the wait time was a couple of hours.
There is no way we would have made it through a wait that long.
One of the cars was a cattle-car where you climb into the car and they shut the little door behind you and you are locked in.
We decided an open car was a better choice for us.
I loved the detail of the engine and the caboose.
It was a fun little ride around the park.
Here's the Chaos in silhouette. You do know that silhouettes are all the rage right now, right?!?
Then kids wanted to ride the carousel.
Really not my idea of a good time. I don't do round and round very well, but each child under 3 had to have an adult with them. So on the carousel I went.
And of course LaLa and Ham screamed through most of the ride...and I wanted to throw up.
Then we moved on to the tiny train...and when I say tiny I mean tiny.
Each of us had to have our own seat. Yes that is my butt (thanks Big Daddy).
The seats were pretty cramped.
So Big Daddy just stretched out to help Ham feel more comfortable....and Big Daddy too.
The big kids were a couple of cars ahead of us. Of course they told us to not lean too much or reach out and try to grab anything....Big J!
I think we all had fun.
Plus it didn't cost that much at all. We all rode both trains and the carousel for $20 total. Not bad for a family of 7!
Of course LaLa didn't want to leave when it was time to go.
I think she might have just been a little tired!?!
Then by Saturday night the coughing and sore throats were really bad. I took Einstein and Ham to urgent care, but it is just a stinkin' virus...THAT IS NEVER GOING AWAY!
Sunday we stayed home from Church and ended up getting to watch the Cardinals beat the Eagles to go to the Superbowl. The Arizona Cardinals in the Superbowl...it would almost be laughable if they hadn't played so well most of this year.
Thank goodness we had the day off of school on Monday for everyone to rest and start feeling better. Yeah right?!?
Are you still with me? Do you need a potty break? I think I do.....
So Tuesday the big kids were back in school and LaLa, Ham and I watched the Inauguration.
It looks like they are really there, doesn't it?
They really got into the celebration.
On Wednesday we had our Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. Big J was too sick to go so Einstein and I went by ourselves.
This is Einstein and his cake that he decorated for the dinner.
Then Thursday I hit this milestone on my blog.
300 posts....Crazy!
Still with me?
Then today we had this little breakthrough with Ham's therapy.
So exciting!
And with everything else we had going on there was a MAJOR victory.
YES....LaLa is finally potty trained.
And I have to tell you, for the sweet love of Pete this was a well fought and exhausting battle! Considering I have been changing diapers for almost 11 years straight and at least 4 of those years I had 2 little ones in diapers. This has been a happy, happy week. Now I've have to start working with Ham. I need to get him potty trained before I start needing to wear diapers!
Ok now that you have had enough of my life you can go back to yours. Thanks for making it through the whole post!
WHEW....I need a rest just reading your blog.. What a week!

I think you saved the best for last. I am soo happy to hear that LaLa is potty trained. I think Taylor has that same pair of underwear.
ReplyDeleteWhat a week. We used to go to McCormick train park every year for Josh's b-day. But didn't go this year.
ReplyDeleteOur blue & gold is next month. Tyler is already thinking about his cake.. I hope your all feeling better now. That bites.
Yeah La La way to go Girlfriend. I knew you could do it. Allie is so proud of you too & wants to know if you want to play with her...
Yeah Ham for walking on the board. Good job.
Big Daddy quite laying around & do something would ya.. Sheesh you even lay around on a train!
Yeah on your 300 posts. I haven't even looked how many I have.
And I didn't even get up to pee....
Wow, what a week! I know if I sat down and wrote all the things my family did during the week, it wouldn't match yours. Plus, I would forget to take pictures.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 300 posts!
What a bust week.
ReplyDeleteCan you email me, I cannot tell if you got in my private blog....
