SPT - Citius Altius Fortius

SPT LOGO

citius, altius, fortius

faster, higher, stronger

These three words encourage the athlete to give his or her best during competition, and to view this effort as a victory in itself.

From Lelly - think about the Olympic motto, and how it can apply to our every day lives. citius. altius. fortius. are we giving our best? can we find victories in the efforts we make every day? i'll see you on the gold medal podium!

I found out last Friday that I have pneumonia and thanks to this little box full of pills I am feeling much stronger.

This isn't my first bout with pneumonia. A little over 3 years ago I was in the hospital with pneumonia. LaLa was only 10 weeks old and it was more stressful for me to be in the hospital and finally they sent me home because I wasn't getting better because I was so worried about my babies. I thought what's the big deal - it's only pneumonia. A few weeks later I got a call in the middle of the night from my sister telling me that my brother had passed away at the age of 42.

My brother had lived his own life and had made choices that made his life harder than it needed to be. After all the years of drug use his body was in pretty rough shape and his life was pretty sad and lonely. When we finally got the coroners report the cause of death was listed as pneumonia.

This time I took the diagnosis a little more serious and have tried to take it easy and get better.

  4. How sad about your brother. Being in the hospital with a newborn at home would be so difficult. Take it easy. I hope you are feeling better really soon.
