SPT - Pioneer Children Froze As They Walked

It finally warmed up enough to take the kiddos out to do something fun…and by fun I mean out of the house and not bickering.

So we went and hiked a little bit of the Oregon Trail.

Near my sister’s house there is a spot where the wagon wheels have carved ruts in the rocks.

We usually visit the Trail when we come up here, but it looks a little different in the winter.

Off the kiddos go headed for the Snake River.

We took pictures by the trail markers.

Here are the Chaos Kidlets at the marker.

And the whole famn damily.

After awhile LaLa said she was really tired and just wanted to go home. I told her about Pioneers and how far they had to walk and how hard life was for them. She then held my hand and said “I am so glad I am not a pioneer”.

I couldn’t agree more…I was FREEZING.

When we got back to the house Ham was worn out and snuggled up on the floor and went to sleep. Poor thing.

  1. The whole famn damily is adorable! I knew Ham was going to fall asleep, he looked freezing in one of the pictures. So cute!

I'm impressed with you being out in the snow...you AZ girl!

  2. Is one of your children wearing sandles, or are they just two toned boots. It looks like a lot of fun. My kids love playing in the snow, but they do have snow pants and coats for -25 degrees.

  3. If I'd have been a pioneer, I'd for sure look like Ham.
