Our school, like most, has a 5th grade band program and Big J is going to be part of it this year. Yeah, not really sure what I was thinking when I signed that permission slip. So this afternoon Big Daddy took Big J to pick up his instrument for band and tomorrow is the first day of band practice.
He is in the percussion group.
Won't than be fun for us.
Watch out Alex Van Halen.
At least it's not the trumpet - right Uncle Steven?!?
There are not enough drugs in the world!!!
ReplyDeleteWAY TO GO BIG J!
I love the title of this post, and Janiece's comment. You are gonna have soooo much fun at your house!
ReplyDeleteway fun!! :o)
ReplyDeleteWell we look forward to many performances by Big J. Just think you will have a Little Drummer Boy for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! Aren't boys great :)
ReplyDeleteOH Lene--too funny! My mom taught violin lessons when we were growing up. Trust me it could be so much worse than percussion! Ever heard beginning violinists SCREECH? It's worse than death itself! Seriously! Hang in there and get some good ear plugs! :)
ReplyDeleteI played the violin as a child - I knew I didn't want to go down that road as a parent.
ReplyDeleteJules - I didn't think about the Little Drummer Boy thing - perfect timing.
He just looks so cute in his picture... Just wait until the rest of the kids start playing it too..
ReplyDeleteNone of my kids play an instrument & I really wish they would. I would love for them to know how..
That's funny what Kathy said. She didn't mention that her & her brothers & so freakin talented when it comes to music.
P.S. I signed up to follow your blog I love it :)
ReplyDeletehow fun! not one of my kids got a musical gene. They sing! but no one plays anything unless it requires a ball.
ReplyDeleteyea---good job on the instrument(s) Matt played Trumpet. Actually he started out with it and changed to the TUBA!!!
