We had been planning all week to take the kids to Fountain Hills on Friday. They have a really cool park with a fun playground, splash pad, 18 hole disc golf course and a HUGE fountain.
The big day arrives and we load up and head north ready for a day of fun. As we pull into the parking lot and we notice caution tape all around the park. After a little investigation we found this sign:
So much for playing any disc golf or playing in the grass.
No big deal we can play at the splash pad......or not.
At least the playground was still open and fun.
And we had the place pretty much to ourselves...huh wonder why?
The whole play structure is empty except Big J on the swing.
Big J and Einstein had a little too much fun on the kiddie toys.
Ham had fun walking and walking and walking.
And we didn't let a lack of water stop us from having fun on the splash pad.
We met Bob the Frog
and George the Tortoise.
The kidlets waiting patiently for the best part...the fountain. It really is huge.
We saw it go off twice. The second time Big J sat and watched until the very end.
Even with the unexpected problems we still had fun.
And coming from an anti-park person that is a big deal!
Well, I'm glad you handled yourselves well and din't go postal a la' Family Vacation.
ReplyDeleteHaving the entire park to yourselves is not so bad I think. :o)
I haven't been to Fountain Hills. Well since I was married. Driven past on the way to Payson. That is one heck of a drive to go to a park.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun... Maybe next time it'll all be open!
Dang it! Well, at least you still found a way to have some fun! Great memories for the kids!
ReplyDeleteYou have to be kidding!!
ReplyDeleteYet, I am impressed you were going to a PARK in the first place.
It looks like the kids didn't even know that they missed out!
Glad that fountain went off for Big J.
yeah WAY to far to drive for a stupid park. But it has a splash pad and playground and grass and disc golf and blah blah blah.
