hair’s to today

I have these pictures on my phone of ways I’ve done LaLa’s hair. I thought I would post some occasionally.
I’m still having a hard time finding a place to take pictures in the morning and get enough light to see the details.

1. This is one we do quite often. It’s just a simple french braid on each side and then I combine them in the back of her head into one big braid. It’s fairly simple and quick. The bow is from All Things Ribbon.

2. This is another look she really likes. It looks more complicated than it actually is, but it’s kind of complicated to explain. Basically it’s a zigzag part and braids added into more braids and added into more braids. She says that people always ask about it. The bows are from All Things Ribbon.

3. This is the one that really started it all. It’s one of the first hairdo’s I did on Roo a long time ago. It’s a simple ponytail with “snakes” or twists or whatever you call them. Sometimes we do more small twists, but this day we just did 5 twists with her ponytail. The bows are from Gymboree from about 8 years ago.
Here’s a close-up of her twists. Her hair is perfect for looks like this.

I keep taking pictures of her hair and post a few at a time. If it’s a hair-do that I found on another blog I will post a link to their tutorial.

I linked to All Things Ribbons just because I love her bows.

hair’s to today

I haven’t done a hair post in a few months.
Hair has been done, I just haven’t taken pictures and posted about it.
Roo has been patiently growing her hair out, including her bangs. Growing hair out is such a painful process…
Pulling her bangs back in a flip and then doing a messy bun has been her favorite go-to style.
It’s doubly nice because it’s quick and easy.
~~~~~
LaLa’s hair is finally grown long enough to embrace the ballerina bun or sock bun.
I saw this tutorial and knew we had to give it a try.
It’s a little time consuming for our usual morning routine, but the look is worth the time.
Of course with LaLa it needed a little bow and some glitter spray to be complete.
Super cute!
Hair’s to Today
Today was a quick and easy hair-do day, and versatile enough to do on both girlies.
I found the inspiration on Cute Girls Hairstyles.
I made a small change and twisted the ends together.
I secured the bobby pins where the two twists meet on LaLa.
I should have taken a little extra time to straighten the rest of LaLa’s hair, but it still looks cute.
~~~~~

I did it just a little different on Roo.

Since I had to worry about ends of Roo’s bangs sticking out in her twists I put her bobby pins a little further back

and hid them under her hair.

Here’s a better view of how it looks.

I didn’t need to worry about using the straightener on Roo.

Two cute Girlies and two different looks.

Hair’s to Today

I had to share a cute hair-do we did on LaLa this week.
We have been doing ponytail after ponytail after ponytail.
I don’t know if LaLa was getting bored with the plain ponytails, but I was.
So I decided to jazz it up a little bit.
I parted off a square on the top of her head and then divided that into 3 equal sections.
Then did a simple twist with each section of hair.
I used an elastic on each twist to hold it.
Then did a simple ponytail and brought the twists back in the ponytail.
After each of the twists were secured in the ponytail I took the elastics out.
The finishing touches:
a little bow from All Things Ribbon and glitter spray on each of the twist.
It kind of looks like dandruff in the picture, but it’s just a little glitter.
Because every day can use a little glitter spray.
That just might be my new motto for life.

Hair’s To Today…Yesterday

One of the benefits of 2pm Church is that there is plenty of time to take pictures of the Girlies and their cute hair.
I saw a cute ‘do on Babes in Hairland that was just begging to be done on LaLa.
Don’t you love the picture of my bobby pin placement?
For Roo I did a quick twist and pulled it back with a flower from All Things Ribbon.
Cute girlies ready for Church.
Another look at how cute it is.
The other nice thing is that it stayed in all day on our lazy spring break Monday and still looked cute.
