craft camp

All the kids had camps or other activities going on the summer…except LaLa.
Then a friend announced she was going to have a Craft Camp at her house every week.
So I quickly signed LaLa up and she’s had a fun summer of craftiness.
The first week they decorated water bottles.
Have you heard that when you have a cute water bottle you will drink more water? LaLa definitely agrees.

The second week they made these cute chalkboards with magnets.
Perfect for this girlie who likes to leave notes every where.

The 3rd week they decorated flip-flops.
So cute.

The 4th week they made decoupage letters.
I still need to get it hung up…

The 5th week the decorated picture frames with glitter…
Lots of glitter.

And finally on the 6th week they made these sparkly necklaces.

They were all pretty simple craft projects and she had so much fun.

I like that my boys are involved in the Boy Scouts, but I’m not a fan of the campouts.

I am so happy when they get home, even if it’s only the next day.

Roo was the first kidlet that wore her costume this year. She was invited to a Halloween party with a bunch of kids from school. I am so glad that she had decided to be a Hippie again this year. It sure made it easy for me.

When Hammie told me he wasn’t feeling well and was going to go rest for a little while I was a little concerned. Then when I found him fast asleep I was worried that he was getting sick.

I am so glad he was completely fine the next day.

I came across this picture from 5 years ago. I can’t believe how quickly things change.

This restaurant opened recently in our little town. I am usually a big fan of supporting local businesses, but for some reason this one makes me a little nervous.

The Friday before Halloween we had our Ward Halloween Carnival and Roo was supposed to bring cupcakes.

We made chocolate cupcakes with a TON of sprinkles…because there wouldn’t be enough sugar for the kidlets in the next few days.

You know it must be costume time if the crimper and the 3-barrel are both being warmed up.

Next to the church where we had our carnival our high school football team was playing the last game of the season. They finished the season undefeated and they were ranked 2nd in our division for the state and they are going to the play-offs.

So marching band will go on…

Last Saturday we had the privilege of walking with my cousin and his family is the Walk-n-Roll for Spina Bifida.

Ham and B are the same age and Ham thought it was pretty cool to push B in his wheelchair on the walk.

One of our local news channel covered the walk and part of the Chaos showed up on the news.

We are already planning to walk again next year.

And hopefully next year I can smile when we have our picture taken…

That night the Man-Child had a Halloween Party to go to.

I have issues with Target. While doing laundry I realized I have the same shirt in 7 different colors. I may need an intervention.

The kidlets were ready for a night of Trick or Treating.

Big Daddy took the three littles out and Einstein ran around the neighborhood with a bunch of friends, but they didn’t really go out for candy.

That left the Man-Child…

He became the Candy-Hander-Outer…and he took it upon himself to do Quality Control checks on the candy we were handing out.

Friday Instagram Love

Since I was a little busy last weekend I am doing two weeks in one post.

The weather had been glorious here in the southwest so there had been many hours spent outside with bikes and scooters. It has since changed, but I won’t whine about how cold I am. But 60 degrees is cold to me!

Oh this dog is old…and his talent to clear a room quickly is unbelieveable. And he doesn’t even care.

I lined the Boyz up and grabbed the clippers. I think I may have had enough hair on the ground to make a puppy.

Pumpkin. Chocolate chips. And gluten-free. Enough said.

I saw this cute idea here and then sat up until 2am sewing buttons and watching “Sense and Sensibility”. And then forgot to take pictures of the girlies and the cute hair-do’s we did to match. Duh.

The downside of celiac is the blood work he has to have done. The good news is his iron levels are finally almost normal, so no blood work for another year.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Yes I know it’s a little too late for you do this for the teachers in your life, but I had to share what I we did.

First I took a little trip to Wally World and picked up simple clip boards. But what fun is a plain clip board?

I printed off a cute subway style print and added a little mod-podge to the mix and had this:

IMG_7111

Cute, but not cute enough. Adding a few ribbons helped.

IMG_7112

The pièce de résistance?

IMG_7113

A note or picture from each of the kidlets to their teacher.

I thought it was a fun and easy way to let the teachers in our lives know how much we really appreciate them.

I didn’t share earlier because I didn’t want to ruin the surprise for the teachers that might sneak peeks at my blog.

I got the print here.
