Concerts
Since our summer is coming quickly to a close I better get busy and get the end of last school years concerts posted. And as a warning you will only want to sit through this post and the videos if you really love us and are willing to admit how cute and talented my kidlets are. You have been warned. And if you can stand how horrible I am at making videos. But I do have to defend the shakiness, most of these were made with Ham sitting on my lap and he doesn’t not know how to sit still.
This last year Roo was in her school choir. The end of the year play was “Rats”.
Roo and a Rat (well she isn’t really a rat, she just plays one on stage).
The Boyz are both playing percussion in their schools bands and by the blessings of the Band Gods the schools had their concerts together.
Somehow I didn’t video any of the middle school band actually playing, but just imagine a middle school band playing beginning bands songs… Yep it sounded just about that good. You can’t even really see Einstein, but it looks like the band director is pointing to him there in the very back.
In the jr high band they get a chance to play different instruments so I was able to get a good shot of J. Yes I know it is blurry, but still a good picture.
The Trash Can Band also performed that night…with an awesome solo with J on the boom whackers.
I kept panning the grandma in front of us because she was totally rocking out to the beat.
My two little drummer boys.
Our final concert was LaLa’s Kindergarten Graduation.
This video is horrible, just be patient during the blurring beginning. It was my favorite song that they sang that night.
Here is LaLa with her teacher Mrs. N.
And she might look familiar because she has now gone 4 for 5 as our kindergarten teacher.
So that is how our May ended.
Pretty darn entertaining if I do say so myself!

Walk on the Wild Side
I would be embarrassed to tell you how much time I have spent watching these with the kidlets on YouTube.

Nap Anyone?
I saw this today and it made me laugh…and I kind of needed a laugh today.
I don’t know if it was the reaction from the people or all of the giggling.

I Know That My Savior Loves Me
Today was our Primary Program at Church.
All the children in our ward have parts to perform during the program and there are songs that are sung in all the wards. The last song that the Primary children sang today was:
And seriously…Why did I not pack any tissues in my bag today?
Einstein wasn’t able to go to Church today (more on that tomorrow) so we left Big J home to keep him company and Ham stayed home to keep them both out of trouble. I am still not sure how that all worked out, but the house was still standing when we got home.
That left the Girlies to represent the Chaos.
Roo’s part was pretty simple and straight forward: When I was baptized I made a covenant with God.
Oh and the little duet she sang on one of the song verses. She did amazing. I know I’m her Mom, BUT she has such a pure and sweet singing voice.
LaLa on the other hand had this little doozie: John 5:39 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
She didn’t quite have it memorized, but did a great job. And speech issue? What speech issue?!?
Here they are waving to all of their fans…Okay it was only Big Daddy, but still.
And this is the true picture of Miss Sassy and Miss Frass.
I sure love these sweet little girlies and am happy they are mine.

Ever Feel Like Charlie?
Have you ever seen these?
After dealing with these two
every day.
I feel a little like Charlie.
Except I’m not a unicorn…and I still have both my kidneys.

The Storm and the Aftermath
Here in AZ this week we were hit with a BIG STORM…and not a BIG STORM in our AZ-weather-whimpy opinions, but a true BIG STORM. Lots of rain and lots of wind.
To add to the fun of the BIG STORM our backyard is totally messed up. It drives my poor Civil Engineer crazy.
So after a couple of days of non-stop rain this is what our back patio and yard looked like.
You can’t see it real well, but the water in the pool is way above where it is supposed to be, that is how much rain we had.
There was a tornado watch and warning one night, but thankfully no tornado.
The neighbors across the street lost a pretty big tree.
We don’t usually have water features in our neighborhood, but for now our retention basins are pretty full.
We woke up on Saturday to beautiful blue skies and everything was starting to dry out. Including the backyard.
There are still puddles that will be around for awhile.
The water level is almost back to normal in the pool, but there was still a lot of debris that needed cleaned out of it.
I am just glad that with all the wind we had there wasn’t any damage to either one of our shade sails.
But by Saturday everyone had been cooped up way too long. The kids have had rainy day schedule at school for most of the week so they really needed to get out and run. Since the weather was so nice Big Daddy we decided to put the clean-up on hold and took the kiddos to go play at the parks in the neighborhood.
At our first stop we were surprised to see the water was dropping pretty quickly.
As we were headed to one of the other parks I realized I hadn’t combed LaLa’s hair since Thursday…it did look really cute at one time.
We saw more damage on our way.
The sky was so pretty with white fluffy clouds.
The kiddos had lots of fun.
We finally headed to the third park.
This is a view of one of our new neighborhood ponds.
Then I noticed that these big black clouds were moving in. It kind of looks like the black cloud is going to eat the white, fluffy cloud. There were a few drops of rain, but that was it.
It was the perfect day.
At one of the parks I took frame-by-frame pictures of the kiddos coming down the slide as a train. I wasn’t able to get all of them together in one shot so I made it into a little movie. If I knew what I was doing I could have added some music or something, but I don’t so I didn’t.
