It wouldn’t be a trip to Idaho without visiting the Oregon Trail Ruts. We had watched the movie “17 Miracles” the night before so it even had more meaning.
When we showed up the sky was looking a little dodgy.
But being pioneer children it didn’t stop us.
When we visit the Oregon Trail we usually only have 5 kidlets.
This visit we had 2 new pioneers with us.
It was fun having Celes and Hazel with us.
As we were walking the sky kept getting darker.
But still we trekked on with the closest thing we had to handcarts.
We were able to get all the kidlets together for another picture.
Look how cute these sweet cousins are.
The Boyz were tired of walking with us and went ahead.
Way ahead.
Rushing ahead they missed where the ruts were cut into the rock.
LaLa is not as worried about the ruts as she is about posing. hmmm…think maybe I take too many pictures?
The storm was still building around us so we thought it was time to turn around.
And we had blue skies ahead of us.
On the way back we found a new friend. Can you see it on Celes’ face.
She wasn’t too fond of our new friend.
It was huge.
Walking back to the cars I just had to laugh watching Ham run up the trail. I honestly don’t know how this kid stays on his feet.
And before we left we had more posing…
And not just LaLa.
I am so glad that we have made it a tradition to visit this spot.
I really want to watch "17 Miracles”. It looks so good.
ReplyDeleteCute pictures. :)
Another wonderful outing.
ReplyDeleteI too am glad that this is a traditional trip.
You didn't mention that the storm came back around and RAINED for 2 days straight. The sprinkles started as we were climbing back into the cars.
Love you
