Happy Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving. This day thrown in the middle of the “Gimme” holidays that we focus on how much we have been given. I have been so blessed and I have much to be thankful for.

First and foremost is my knowledge that my Father in Heaven is real. I am his daughter and he knows me and loves me. I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. The fact that he lived and died for me is a very humbling and sobering thought. I am grateful for the triumphs and the trials I have been given in my life, without both I wouldn’t be who I am. And through some of the darkest days of my life the love of my Heavenly Father was there before me. I am thankful for prayer and the knowledge that they are heard and answered.

I am thankful for my Husband. I love him and I like him. I am thankful that he has warm feet and puts up with my cold feet. I am grateful that he is smart and a hard worker. I am grateful that he feels it is as important as I do that I fulfill my role as a mother and I am able to be home with my Children. I am extremely grateful for my Children. They are my life. They make me want to be better than I am. I am thankful for Big J and his desire to be good. I am thankful for Einstein and his spirit of service. I am thankful for Roo and her compassion. I am thankful for LaLa and her self-confidence. I am thankful for Ham and the sweet spirit he brings to our home. I am thankful for my Mom and Dad. They were incredible parents and I had a wonderful childhood. I am thankful for my Siblings. They are my best friends. I know if there is anything I need they are there for me.

I am thankful that I live when I do. I am spoiled by modern conveniences. I am so thankful that I don’t have to kill my food before eating it. I grateful that my house is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I am thankful that I can wash and dry my clothes in my own home. I am thankful that for light I can flip a switch and it is there. I am grateful that I have running water in my home, hot and cold running water. I am thankful that I don’t have to worry about my children getting ill from spoiled food. I am really grateful for the miracle of modern medicine, there are many in my life that wouldn’t be here without that blessing.

I am grateful for the United States of America and I am thankful that I live here. For all that may be wrong with our government, there is still so much right with our country. I am grateful for the freedoms I enjoy.

I am thankful for the big things…and the little things. I am thankful for Dr. Pepper and the joy it brings me. I am thankful for chips and salsa. I am thankful for the cacao bean and the delightful little treat called chocolate. I am thankful for make-up, really thankful. I am thankful for cell phones…well not the phone part, but the texting part. I am thankful that I can speak to my sister daily, even if she lives 900 miles away. I am thankful for flip-flops. I am thankful for the public library and the world of books that is there waiting for me. I am thankful for double-sided tape and hot glue guns. I am thankful for Aquaphor and Eucerin and the relief they bring my skin. I am thankful for contacts and the fact that I can see without wearing glasses. I am thankful for Nutella. I am thankful for Opi nail polish and the great colors it comes in and the fact that my toes are sassy because of it. I am thankful for my red, kicky high heel shoes and the fact that I always feel good when I wear them.

I am thankful that my husband was thinking about my well being when he suggested that we should have Thanksgiving at his parents. And I am thankful that I am not fixing dinner today and my Mother-in-law is.

And I am thankful for You, my bloggy friends.
